The Facts…

  • she’s closely related to an alien species called The Allomorph, she possesses the power to alter her molecular structure
  • she blames The Doctor for the death of her mate in 1046
  • as the last of her kind, there seemed to be no way to pass on her full genetic code to her offspring. so she started to look for other ways of recreating her race
  • she was the prime motivator behind getting the Avonlea people to go down the dark path of genetic engineering. but it was all with dire consequences
  • it all led to a civil war, The great Avonlea Genetic War of 1619, where Queen Saja was overthrown and  imprisoned
  • it was regarded as a dark science. All those practising it had their memories wiped with only their childhood experiences left and then exiled with no hope of ever coming back.

Akia

Essential Storyline:

  • second season: chapters 19-22

The Facts…

  • he’s totally self-absorbed in his work with genetic engineering and the Dark Sciences
  • he improved on the Ikarza DNA code and made a superior vampire that is similar to Ikarza himself. He then tested it on his children
  • through fear of all-out war with the numerous Inferiors, a treaty was drawn up and it became forbidden for the Shangs to make any more after Kitana
  • but Kitana broke that treaty in the year 2004 when she made James. The consequences were an all-out war between the Shangs and the Inferiors in 2020 which led to Akia-Khan’s death. That caused Soolin to use the dragon tears potion which sent her mind back in time
  • in this second timeline, she attempted to save him by taking control of time itself. But her plan failed in Chapter 22: Way of the Dragon, 2018 and the Shangs were left in disarray until Joel created the third timeline.

(the shadow war does not go well for the Inferiors because Saja was released early from her imprisonment)

  • the once grand palace where she ruled from is now in ruins and the Avonlea records on her had been omitted from the history files.
